New applications now start in the new portal. The Commission’s Which portal do I use? page (updated 15 October 2026) says to use the new NDIS Commission portal for new work from 12 October 2026. If you want to apply for registration, you sign in to the new portal and start a new application.
Including a new registration application. This is where a new SIL provider starts.
To finish applications already submitted before 12 October and see historical records. Registration applications still in draft on 12 October were removed.
The Commission says providers now use two portals, the existing one and the new one. To sign in to either one, the Commission says you need a PRODA account or a myID, with RAM authorisation if you act for an organisation.
This is the path the Commission sets out for a new provider in its registration map for the new portal. Each step links to the official page.

If no further check is needed after Part 1, you can start Part 2 straight away; sometimes Commission staff check your information first. In Part 2 you complete a detailed self-assessment against each of the NDIS Practice Standards that apply to you, then declare and submit. The Commission says auditors use it to inform their assessment of your service.

Official: Provider Registration, Part 2 · Find an auditor
Your approved quality auditor contacts you to schedule the audit and decide which sites will be inspected, then checks that your business meets the NDIS Practice Standards that apply.

After the audit, you see the auditor’s recommendation in the portal and submit the results to the Commission. The Commission looks at your whole application and your auditor’s recommendation, and does a final check that your business and key personnel are suitable. If it approves, you receive a Certificate of Registration showing your approved supports and your conditions.

Part 1 is mostly facts you already have: your ABN, your services, your people. Part 2 is different. It asks how your service meets each Practice Standard that applies to you, written by you, specific to your organisation.
For SIL, we list the 28 Practice Standard outcomes that apply to SIL, one by one: 24 from the Core Module and 4 from the SIL supplementary module, each with what the box is looking for and the official standard behind it.
All 28 questions, explained →If you submitted it before 12 October, you finish it in the existing portal. If it was still a draft on 12 October, the Commission says it was removed: start a new application in the new portal. Its Which portal do I use? page sets out which work goes where.
